Our intent is to share these songs, transcribe them, and support the indigenous people through whom these songs came into this world.

Indigeno is a catalog of songs from indigenous tribes of the Amazon rainforest — Huni Kuin, Yawanawa, Curawaka and Shipibo. Each song comes with lyrics and chords, often a video or audio recording too, so someone can actually play or sing it, not just read it.

The app is built and maintained by the two of us — Petr Chutný and Tomáš Hlatký.

Anyone logged in can propose a new song or another version of one (different capo, different arrangement). Reader, contributor, admin and owner roles determine who can edit what. Songs keep an edit history, so nothing is ever lost for good while editing.

Zpěvník (a second collection on the same app, at zpevnik.petrchutny.cz) uses the same code for a broader singalong song collection — mantras, carols, guitar songs.
